Spitskoppe The Spitskoppe has often been referred to as the Matterhorn of Namibia. These are actually a series of granitic inselbergs within the Namib desert. It is an attractive area with the Herero Chat being the main special to be seen. The area can be very good for birding at times of good rainfall but this is sporadic and cannot be guaranteed. Birding 2. Gray's Lark is found on the gravel plains west of the Spitskoppe, on the way to Hentjies Bay. 3. The small washes here as well as the hilly areas with sparse vegetation also support Karoo Eremomela. General
