DONALDSON DAM Claudia Holgate Donaldson Dam can be found on the R28 travelling towards Randfontein. It is a public resort with 2 campsites and ablution blocks. An entrance fee is payable. The main attraction is a large dam that attracts Great Crested Grebe, Southern Pochard, Whitewinged Tern and South African Shelduck. Watch out for Sand Martin and European Swallow hunting over the dam in summer. Osprey is occasionally spotted. |
